On Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 6:30pm Those Guys and That Girl Films will publicly kick-off their first feature film project, 7 Tales of Desperation at the Cine El Rey in McAllen, Texas.

The evening will begin with cocktails and light appetizers in the lobby followed by a presentation hosted by the managing members of Those Guys and That Girl Films. As most of you know, we’re a minority owned motion picture development company; and we’re looking to introduce you to the world of motion pictures. As part of the evenings event, one of the highlights will include the premiere of the 7 Tales of Desperation trailer and selected scenes from the screenplay featuring actors Mando Alvarado, Michael Ray Escamilla, David Barrera, Lucia Brawley and Alex Gonzalez.

Our aim is to bring together investors and contributors to participate in the development and financing of 7 Tales of Desperation . Until recently, the industry has been controlled by the major studios, making investment opportunities in individual films generally unavailable to the public. But due to the increased demand for Latino themed films there is a tremendous shortfall of the quality of product being produced. Additionally, the growth in Latino market has created a demand which cannot be met by the studios alone. These major studios and distribution companies now rely on independently financed films to fill this void. This is where we, as creators and investors, come in.

Independent films tell stories that major studios are too scared to touch. In fact, this year’s crop of films, four out of the five films nominated by Academy members, were precisely those projects that had been turned down by every major studio in town. What does that tell you? That even though major studio produced films have large budgets, it doesn’t mean that they tell the best stories. "Bigger" is not always "better". Facts show that independent films can be produced for less than four million dollars and still not sacrifice quality production values and great story telling.

Are we looking for four million dollars? No. Are we looking for your help? Yes!

The evening will conclude with information on how you can be involved in the project as an investor or contributor. We hope you will consider joining us for our first-ever kick-off event in the life of Those Guys and That Girl Films!
